The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency mentioned it is actually alarmed with regards to the high quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The service point created for intervention ordeals a significant influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to allow the servicing of here all customers and maximize entry to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
